The Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity is a global humanitarian award. Its mission is to recognize and support those who risk their own lives, health, or freedom to save the lives, health or freedom of others suffering as a result of violent conflict, atrocity crimes or other major human rights violations. The Aurora Prize Laureate is selected based on the nominee’s demonstration of courage, commitment, and impact.
On behalf of the survivors of the Armenian Genocide and in gratitude to their saviors, an Aurora Prize Laureate is honored with a US $1,000,000 award, which gives the Laureate a unique opportunity to continue the cycle of giving by supporting the organizations that help people in need.

George Clooney joined humanitarian leaders to launch a new global prize, the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity, as part of the 100 LIVES initiative.
Open »Three international businessmen and philanthropists of Armenian descent came together to establish 100 LIVES as a pioneering global initiative that would express gratitude for those who put themesleves at risk to help Armenians survive the Genocide 100 years ago. 100 lives is committed to recognizing and honoring the human spirit by championing individuals and organizations who continue to demonstrate that same spirit of selflessness to enable others to survive and thrive. This folder contains some information and associated materials on the three co-founders and their inspiration for the 100 LIVES and Aurora Prize.
